Air Drops or Care Packages are random equipment drops that come randomly timed during matches from passing C-130s which may contain ammunition, weapons or equipment. The plane's distinctive turboprop engines can be heard well before it drops off a crate, giving players plenty of notice on arrival. During a random point on its flight path, a crate will be dropped from the plane, its descent slowed down by a single large parachute, a visible flashing white light on the crate itself improving its visibility. Once it hits the ground, a red smoke flare will be activated, signaling to anyone within its line of sight that it is ready to be opened. This makes it both dangerous for ill-equipped players and a feeding ground for those who are well-equipped.
